Empowering Resilience: Hear the Inspiring Stories inspired by our impact to the society

Dear Mum Flora,

On this International Women’s Day, I struggle to find words that truly capture the depth of my gratitude. When my world was dark, when my siblings and I had no hope, you opened your heart and home to us. You gave us love, care, and a place to belong. Your kindness has not only changed my life—it has redefined it.

Before you came into our lives, survival was our only goal. We scavenged for food in the streets, abandoned by an alcoholic mother, with no certainty of a meal, an education, or even a safe place to sleep. Many nights, we huddled outside a church, praying for shelter and safety, feeling invisible to the world. Life was nothing but hardship.
And then, you came.

You saw us—not as broken children, but as souls deserving of love, dignity, and a future. You welcomed us with open arms, not just giving us a roof over our heads, but a home filled with warmth, stability, and dreams we never dared to have. You believed in us when no one else did. You gave us hope.

But your love didn’t stop with me.

You have been a mother, a protector, and a guiding light to more than 80 girls—girls who have faced unimaginable hardships, from abandonment and poverty to abuse and trauma. Yet, under your care, we have flourished. You didn’t just provide shelter; you gave us a family. You gave us a voice. You gave us the strength to reclaim our futures.

Because of you, we are no longer just survivors—we are dreamers, learners, and young women with purpose. You have broken the chains of suffering for so many, replacing despair with possibility. Your resilience, your unwavering love, and your boundless generosity have shaped us into who we are today.

Mum Flora, you are more than a guardian. You are our role model, our safe place, our greatest source of inspiration. Without you, many of us would not have a future. Because of you, we now stand strong, ready to rise, ready to give back, and ready to carry forward the lessons of strength, compassion, and selflessness that you have so gracefully taught us.

Thank you for being our mother. Thank you for being our light. Thank you for showing us that love has the power to change destinies. Happy Women’s Day to the most incredible woman we know. With all my love and endless gratitude, Faith

Today, I was part of something deeply moving—heartbreaking, yet filled with hope. I met young girls, just 2, 4, and 8 years old—fragile souls who have already endured pain no child should ever know. And yet, amidst their suffering, I witnessed something extraordinary: hope being restored, dignity being reclaimed. They read me a poem, and one line shattered me: "It was not my fault… it was the father I trusted, the neighbor I played innocently beside, the uncle who said he wanted to show me the love I lacked." I sat there, my heart breaking. How could such innocence be met with such cruelty? What had they done to deserve this? Nothing. Then I held her—a tiny, fragile girl, just two years old. Too small to understand, too young to know she had been rescued. Saved from a mother who didn’t care and a father who wanted to exploit her. She sang, mumbled, lost in her own little world. And all I could do was hold her close and whisper a prayer—that God would protect her, that He would rewrite her story. Today, I wept. I wept for her and for every other child who has suffered in silence. But today, I also thanked God. Because now, more than ever, I understand why I am here. This is my purpose. For the little girls in rural villages, clinging to a single thread of hope. For the ones who have been silenced, forgotten, and betrayed. For those who need to know that their pain is not the end of their story. That thread of hope is you. It’s me. It’s people like Dr. F, who let God work through them. I can’t fully express what I feel, but I know this—this is what I was made for. Now, let me go wipe my tears. But not before I do something about it.

I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate and celebrate you. During today’s meeting, the DC, CCI officers, and county children’s officers praised you for your unwavering dedication to helping sexually abused girls. Your kindness, hard work, and commitment do not go unnoticed.

You are truly making a difference in the lives of these children, offering them hope and a chance for a better future.

Because of your incredible work, they have given us the opportunity to host the next quarterly meeting. This will be a great chance to showcase how we operate and allow other children’s homes to benchmark from us.
